Research » Autonomous Robotic Manipulation

The goal of the Autonomous Robotic Manipulation project is to use new control, machine learning, and perceptual algorithms to enable a robot to grasp and manipulate a large variety of objects, which may not have been seen before. Initially, a one armed stationary Barrett WAM Arm with Barrett Hand (including tactile sensors) is used. In a later phase of the project, a second Arm/Hand combination will be added, and finally, the robot will become mobile on a wheeled base. See also the official project website.
