This video shows an unabridged number of trials that are needed to learn the skill of pole balancing with a 7 DOF Sarcos Dexterous Arm. Note that at the end of the movie, the pole's eigenfrequency is changed such that it can be demonstrated that the robot can quickly adapt to a new environment.

With the help of locally weighted learning, the task of devilsticking is learned in real-time in about 50-60 trials. A child requires about one week of one hour training to obtain similar performance.
